Lessons in Singapore....
Teachers and counsellors in Singapore are seeing an increase in cyber-bullying.
For 30 minutes every week, students at the Barker Road Anglo-Chinese School go through an online digital citizenship program which delves into issues such as Internet Addiction, pornography, gaming and focuses on responsible use and netiquette.
The message to students is clear – cyber-bullying or abusing others online is simply not acceptable.
Although the school is taking a strong stance against cyber bullying, it is also asking for assistance from parents, since most of the Internet usage is done at home.
No matter where we live, we must all work together, parents, teachers and law enforcement officials, to keep our children safer online.

Is their such thing as internet addiction, if their is I think its something I need to look at, I can't think of a time when I've used my computer without having a browser open, and I'm on a computer a lot!
I think its a good idea to teach kids these things early, I never even knew their was such a thing as internet addiction after reading this and I only just found out about gaming addiction after watching a program on the BBC and how they have courses in amsterdam (don't know how you spell it) to help people with gaming addiction.
Hi Mike,
Yes, there is such a thing as Internet Addiction. At some point, I will delve further into that. As with most things in life, moderation is key. When the Internet dictates and impacts your life, so much so that you can no longer "function" in your real life, there is a problem and it needs to be addressed.
