Canadian Teachers are cyber bullied.
In a recent press release by COMPAS, 84% of Ontario educators have experienced cyber bullying which included spreading harmful gossip, using the Internet to criticize their appearance or grading skills, and even make threats of physical harm.
1/5 of respondents reported cyber-bullying contributes to teachers leaving the education field.
93% of Ontario's French secondary school teachers have been the subject of electronic bullying.
The annual survey of members conducted by the Ontario College of Teachers magazine Professionally Speaking say that schools and school boards need to do more to counteract the trend.
Teachers believe that cyber harassment decreases classroom quality, affects job satisfaction among teachers and leads to poor student performance.

Geez this is so sad. I can understand teens blogging about school frustrations by why mention a teacher's name?
What makes this even worse, is that many students/children do not use their real name when posting comments, while teachers are readily identified. I wrote several posts about a website called RateMyTeacher or RateMyProfessor.com which stirred up quite the debate!!
Thanks, Rose!
