1 in 10 Britains Victim of Internet Fraud

According to a study, 1 in 10 Britains were victims of online fraud in the past year.

The study, sponsored by the government and Get Safe Online, surveyed over 2000 adults and found that almost 2 million  people were victims of online shopping fraud,  1.5 million experienced another form of general online fraud while 1.2 million people  were subject to online banking or credit card fraud.

According to the survey, the average user now has 9 different passwords and 5% admitted that they use just one password for all online activity. 

  • 46% did not have anti-spyware installed
  • 7%  had no anti-virus software
  • Around 13% of users did not use a firewall

I can honestly say I've never been a victim of fraud.
i always check the sites I'm considering buying things off.
