Australia's Federal Government has announced a plan to combat electronic bullying.

Cyberbullying, whether via cell phones or in chatrooms, has soared.

The Telstra Foundation will provide grants to target negative online behavior, ranging from bullying to internet addiction and identity theft.

The foundation announced over the next 3 years, over $2 million in cyber safety grants will be available in order to curb electronic bullying.

"Sadly, there are more and more reported incidents of children and young people who are victimised at the hands of bullies or people doing the wrong thing online,"  Telstra Foundation Chairman Herb Elliot said.

Way to go, Australia!  When will America step up???
