Last week, while looking for furniture for sale on Craigslist, a Canadian mother found something else.

"A new baby girl, seven days old, healthy and very cute," read the ad. "Can't afford and unexpected. Looking for a good home. Please call ASAP."  The ad reportedly listed the newborn for $10,000.

The lady contacted authorities.  The couple was arrested on a public mischief charge and  were later released.  The ad, which was placed by the father,  was reportedly a hoax.  The baby was removed from the home and placed in the care of the government and the ad has been removed.

Although there may not be enough evidence to support the charge, the case remains under investigation.
