Computer Parts

Every day, I go thru my daily run-throughs with my 500+ children in the computer lab.  They sit down on the floor, put their hands up in the air(to make sure they are not dirty, sticky, or just plain yucky before they touch the mouse & keyboard) and we go thru the drill of using proper names for computer parts, in whispering voices of course.   Mouse, Monitor, Keyboard, etc.

Today I was told, I forget to name the "cord"!!!

Alrighty then!

Chair Head Boy

When the children come into the lab, they sit down on the floor, so I can explain to them what we'll be doing 1130886-706373-thumbnail.jpgfor class without them being distracted by the computers(or dust or hair...)

One particular day, a little boy got his head stuck, yes, stuck, in a chair!!! So, from time to time, I tell the children who are looking mighty fidgety, about "Chair Head Boy", who still, to this day, wanders the school hallways with a chair stuck on his head.  The good thing is, he never has to look far to find a place to sit, does he??  However, bath and bedtime are a bit of a struggle!

A child asked me, "Well, why didnt you cut it off?"... Others were horrified, "what, his head???"

All in a days work!

Perfect Posture

1130886-706377-thumbnail.jpgAfter seeing the horrendous posture with the Junior/Senior High kids, I decided to implement "Perfect Posture Awards" for all K-3 children whilst in front of the computer.  (This entails NO "slouch potatoes", no elbows on the desk, no fingers in mouth, no tipping on chairs)  As bad habits are hard to break, I wanted to start the youngsters off on the right foot, er, fingers.

A little boy reminded me this week, not to pick your buggers and wipe them on the keyboards!!

Enough Said!
